Kevin Moranz: Round 5 Race Recap – SLC 1
To say the least, is was an experience to race in a stadium with no fans. The silence on the line was beyond anything I had imagined in a stadium. It actually was easier to stay calm which was interesting. Coming into the races I had just 2 days on Supercross over the 85-day break. Even though the heat didn’t go to plan we came back to a solid run in the LCQ. Pulling the hole shot and winning it until the final laps when Blose and I were battling, and he found his way past me after a mistake in the whoops. Transferring into the main at the first-round back. In the main event we ended up 17th which isn’t what we are after but a solid place to start. Fought the bike a lot in the main event so we learned valuable bike set up changes for the next round.
